Target Audience

This seminar addresses issues most relevant to experienced psychotherapists who have had prior training and experience in treatment of Dissociative Identity Disorder and related conditions.

Learning Objectives

Participants will:

1. Develop techniques for increasing collaborative action and co-consciousness across states of consciousness;

2. Recognize and be able to use transference, countertransference, and traumatic re-enactment;

3. Be aware of and able to respond to attachment to perpetrator complications;

4. Develop tools for management of panic episodes and abreactions.

Sheralyn Cox, MSW, Ph.D.

Sherry has maintained a private psychotherapy practice since 1974 and has obtained specialized post-graduate training in treatment of dissociative and other trauma disorders. She is a member of the International Society for the Study of Dissociation, the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies, the International Society for the Study of Personality Disorders, and the Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis. She is certified in clinical hypnosis by the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis, for which she is also an approved teaching consultant.

Continuing Education Credits

Psychotherapy Associates is approved by the American Psychological Association to offer continuing education for psychologists. 11.0 CE hours will be issued. Psychotherapy Associates maintains responsibility for the program.

This seminar meets criteria of an approved 11 hour continuing education program for: Nebraska Licensed Mental Health Practitioners.
